Who We Are

We at Clarke and Khan partner with small to medium-sized businesses and startups to help them achieve their goals – whatever those goals may be. Through our bookkeeping, accounting, tax, and management consulting services, we align to your business objectives and act as an extension of your team.

What makes us different?

Let’s be honest – there are lots of bean counters out there who can do your bookkeeping and complete your tax return, while speaking with you once or twice a year. Sure, we can do this for you if you’d like, but what makes our firm different compared to other accountants is that we work directly with you to understand what your goals are, and then build a plan on how together we will achieve them through regular and consistent communication.

How We Do It

At a large organization, there is a C-suite of executives and each one is responsible for one branch of the company, i.e., sales, marketing, IT and HR. As a small business owner, you are doing all these, plus the day-to-day operations of running the place and servicing your customers.

Clarke & Khan acts as your consultative C-suite, guiding you through your growth journey, while identifying hurdles and opportunities along the way.

Managing Partners

Clarke & Khan is led by partners (and friends), Iftikhar Khan and Harrison Clarke. Together they bring a wide breadth of expertise regarding accounting, tax, business development, and growth strategies to the table. They first met when working in the world of corporate finance and management accounting for a multinational tech company, and then decided to join forces to build an organization that would:

1. Be a great place to work for their employees

2. Partner with small businesses and startups to help them achieve their goals, and

3. Make this world we live in a better place

It’s been an exciting journey so far, but we’re just getting started.

Harrison Clarke

Harrison was born in Toronto, Canada. Growing up, both his parents were entrepreneurs, each having their own small business. He saw firsthand the amount of work, stress, and personal sacrifice that goes into building something from scratch and then operating it daily, but he also saw how rewarding it was as well.

Harrison’s field of expertise includes management accounting, business development, internal operational processes, and business strategy. He is extremely passionate about the power of a company’s corporate culture, and how it can make or break an organization.

Iftikhar A. Khan

Iftikhar brings a global mindset and wealth of knowledge to the team. Originally from Karachi, Pakistan, Iftikhar then moved to the Middle East where he lived for close to a decade, spending a significant amount of time in Dubai and Muscat. There he worked for a Big 4 consulting firm in audit as well as for one of the largest organizations in the region, where he learned a tremendous amount of what makes one company more successful compared to another. His yearn for adventure then brought him to Canada in 2018.

He loves educating his clients on how to read financial statements, as well as explaining complex accounting theory in simple ways that are easy for anyone to understand. He is a die-hard romantic when it comes to tax consulting and how to save money for owners, while ensuring that the CRA is happy. Iftikhar is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) and Fellow Certified Chartered Accountant (FCCA)
